Hi, I am Welles Tan, welcome to my blog. I had been a caricaturist for events and parties since 1990. Silhouette Cutting also called Portrait Silhouette Cutting,Profile Cutting or Shadow Cutting. It is an art that using scissors to cut out a shape of a person’s side profile using dark color paper. You can frame it like a photo, put on the desk as a decoration for memories. Within an hour, it should be about 40 - 50 cutting of A6 size to be produced, this is a professional artist's speed.

Silhouette Cutting at Bottle Tree Restaurant
Glad to meet calligrapher Madam Tang at Tanglin Corp’s event at Bottle Tree Restaurant. Bottle Tree Restaurant was a very nice place! It was happily working for the friendly guests at this nice place.The guests like Madam Tang's calligraphy.Met Mr Lee Kim Guan another famous calligrapher at Ang Mo Kio Central. The first time I met him was about at least 6 years ago in an event. I like his strong stroke and very creative styles calligraphy.

To night doing Silhouette cutting for Sony Dinner & Dance at Ritz Carlton Hotel Singapore. There were many guests in this event.My "Hollywood Stars" guests!!!!!

Shangri-La Hotel's Chip Eng Seng Dinner & Dance
Did silhouette cutting for Chip Eng Seng dinner and dance at Shangri-La hotel. The guess was friendly and all dressed very nicely. Met Diana the caricaturist, “The only Female Magician in Singapore—Ning”, Ning looks very skinny compared with last time I met her in one years ago. Met emcee Dezlee as well. It was great to meet lots people I know in the event.Golden Scissors, don't play play! Haa! Haa!

Four Seasons Hotel
Went Four Seasons Hotel doing silhouette cutting event, when I walk from Orchard Mrt to cut thru the car park, realized that this hotel actually behind Hilton Hotel (back to back) and Forum shopping centre, if I did not talk the picture, I would never recover this. Haahaa!

The Chevrons
Went The Chevrons Club to do silhouette cutting pre-event, the client was ASL Marine’s dinner & dance. This is my second time doing a show here; last time I came here was at least 5 years ago if I am not wrong.The interior of Chevrons was very nice!
