The Entertaining of Silhouette Cutting

After 10 years doing silhouette cutting, I found that, doing silhouette cutting is like doing stage performance, but this stage are really small just withing 1 meter - 2 meters area that surrounding you.Why I say like that? Look, since we had surrounding by the crowd, then we have to do our best. Do you realized the attractive of this art was we can just cut out a guest's side profile without drawing and everyone was was keen to know why we can do it without pre-draw the guest's side profile but just cut out a very look alike portrait silhouette, technically, skill involved actually.

Since such interest curiousness from the crowd, as a silhouette artist, in my view, we should make it as a performance to increase the entertaining level while we at work, just like a magician, like a dancer, like a singer that impress our guests.

"I am not the best, but I always try my best", this is my concept while I at work, it always help my maintain my artistic level and quality of my work in certain standard.

We should always in the right mood, enthusiastic attitude and right (or high) morale while we at work, hence we sure can produce nice and professional artworks.

Silhouette Cutting for Private Event

Did an event at Marina Bay Sand today and met many very beautiful guests in the event.I met many tall guests (height about 1.80m I guess)in the event ;pMy dinner which bought at the basement food stalls.

Just A Day

Just get involve in one TV filming production about wedding, I in-charge my silhouette cutting as a fringe art activity in this "Wedding Ceremony". The process was interesting.The organiser had hand picked these colors paper for the silhouette cutting.

That was very cool I got a change do my Silhouette Cutting at Bangkok, Thailand!This is my very first time doing event at Bangkok; I had gain many new experiences doing event down here and met many new friends in this event!

The Quantity of Silhouette Cutting within an Hour's Event booking

As a professional Silhouette Cutting, I would say, in an hour's booking we can be produce average about 40 pieces of silhouettes which as large as our palm size.

Basically, a standard palm size portrait silhouette can produce within a minutes, meanwhile, exclude the time taken for us to put the artwork in plastic bag and the time spend in guiding the guest to pose correctly.

I don's see any reason for a silhouette artist require more than a minutes to produce a standard palm size non complex shape portrait silhouette.

Those who produce less than 30 pieces silhouette in an hour's event booking, they either apprentice or they are taking it for granted to do it slowly to kill the booking time and try to earn easy money.

Singapore is a branded world class great country, hence, as a professional, we should always maintain our high standard for our artwork, both quality and quantity.

How long do you need to produce a cutting in this shape, which in a mobile phone size?

Silhouette Cutting at Night Festival 2010

That was great to do silhouette cutting with William at Peranakan Museum last week. Wh had use colorful paper to do the cutting in this event.Katherine was doing her bodyart in this event as well!This Malay band group was real talented, everyone love theit performance.I like the malay song "Rasa Sayang" and "Burung Kaka Tus" very much, because they sang it in a very stylo and different way! Thougt they had attracted lots tourists as well!Met a lot of beautiful and stylo visitors in the event.One of the activities -- Graffiti painting.

Silhouette Cutting at Pasir Ris Park

Did an event yesterday and met many entertainer friends I know! Yeah!
The event i did was a Taiwanese group's family day, hence i met many Taiwanese guests. That was great to work on this event because all the guests was very nice and friendly.
One of my very beautiful guest! She got beautiful hair as well, and her hair look like the Taiwanese computer games beauty! Heehee!Iron Will's "Escape Show" was super cool!Jeremy Tan was performing in the event!Look! What I holding?
